Simply French Toast

This is a very simple recipe!  If you don’t know what to do with your leftover bread, just turn it into a French toast!

Prepare the egg batter to dip the bread in.

Heat a skillet over medium heat and grease it with butter.


Quickly dip the bread slices in the egg batter.

Cook the dipped bread for few minutes in each side.

Drizzle with syrup and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 3 slices wheat bread or any type of bread
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp butter at room temperature
  • Maple syrup for serving

Instructions

  1. Whisk the egg with the pinch of salt in a shallow dish, then add in the milk, cinnamon and vanilla extract. Mix to combine.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat, then grease it with butter(let it melt).
  3. Dip the bread quickly in the egg mixture, in both sides.

  4. Cook the bread in the skillet for 2 to 3 minutes and flip it over to cook the other side.
  5. Serve with maple syrup (or any other type).
