Ingredients

  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse and drain the cranberries well. Pick through them and discard any bad ones.

  2. Put cranberries in a saucepan over medium heat and add water, cinnamon stick, salt, orange zest and orange juice.

  3. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium low.

  4. Let cook on medium low heat for about 10 minutes or until the cranberries are all popped and the mixture starts to thicken. Stir the mixture occasionally.

  5. Mix in the honey and take off the heat ( don’t bring honey to a boil).

  6. Fish out the cinnamon stick and let the sauce cool. The sauce will thicken as it cools.

  7. Store in airtight container in the refrigerator.
