Rice krispies treats are easy to make.
You can make the Rice Krispies in different shapes by using cookie cutters.

Quick and Easy Rice Krispies Treats

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice krispies cereal
  • 2 cups marshmallows(Pink and purple marshmallows used in this recipe)
  • ยฝ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Put butter in a saucepan over medium low heat and let it melt.

  2. Add the marshmallows and vanilla then stir until marshmallows melt.
  3. Take the saucepan out of the heat and add rice krispies cereal.
  4. ย Mix quickly to combine, and shape the mixture as desired. You can put few tablespoons of Rice Krispie mixture in a heart shaped cookie cutter (for example), placed on a parchment paper.

  5. Press the mixture with hands using a small sheet of parchment paper (as the mixture is very sticky) in order  to make the surface even.
  6. ย After 2 minute or less, pass a knife at the edges of the cookie cutter and press down on the rice krispie treat with hands to take it out of the cookies cutter.

  7. You can sprinkle the Rice Krispies treats with decorating sugar, sprinkle mix, etc.

  8. Let set at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.

Cream Cheese Beignets


No need to wait until Mardi gras to make these Beignets. These little wondersย are very airy and super easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened at room temperature
  • 8 tbsp all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • ยฝ tsp vanilla extract
  • ยฝ tsp baking powdered
  • Pinch of salt
  • Canola or vegetable oil for frying

Garnish

  • Powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. First separate the egg whites from the yolks.
  2. In a bowl, cream together the egg yolks and sugar.
  3. Add in the cream cheese, vanilla, lemon zest and mix them well until smooth.
  4. Sift in the flour and baking powder, mix just to combine then set aside.
  5. In another bowl whisk the egg whites with the pinch of salt until stiff peaks form.
  6. Gently fold in the egg whites into the egg yolk batter until it is well combined.
  7. Take a small portion of the batter, using a tablespoon, and gently slide the batter with your finger to deep fry it.
  8. Fry the beignets in both sides for about 2 minutes or until golden.
  9. Drain the beignets on a paper towel, then dust with powdered sugar.
  10. Enjoy.
