In a medium bowl, whisk the egg, salt, sugar, vanilla extract and milk.
Sift in the flour and baking powder. Then mix until no lumps remain.
Add the 2 tablespoons of oil and fold it in. You should obtain a smooth thick batter.
Pour the batter in a squeeze bottle, using a liquid measuring cup. Usually we use a funnel to make this cake, but I find it easier and cleaner to use a squeeze bottle.
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
Once the oil is hot (375 °F), squeeze the batter into the hot oil and move your hand in circular motions.
Use tongs to turn the cake and fry the other side.
Once the cake is golden brown, drain it on paper towel.
