Pumpkin Spice Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • ¼ cup pumpkin puree
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Pumpkin spice syrup can be used in your pumpkin spice latte, drizzled over waffles, pancakes, you name it! This recipe will make about 1 big cup syrup.

  1. Put the 2 sugars and water in a saucepan over medium high heat.
  2. Mix until the sugars are dissolved and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium low.
  4. Add in pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice. Let simmer for 10 minutes until all the flavors are well infused.
  5.  Add in vanilla and turn off the heat.
  6.  Strain syrup, using a cheese cloth over a mesh strainer, to obtain a smooth texture.
  7. 7- Pour syrup in an airtight container. Let cool at room temperature.
  8. Reserve in the refrigerator
